Article 1 General
1.1 Dealing responsibly with the data of its website visitors is extremely important to LIOF. Personal data is processed carefully, secured, and not kept longer than is necessary. We comply with the requirements set by the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens) in this regard and since 25 May also the AVG principles of the Dutch Government.

Article 2 Dealing with personal data
2.1 In order to facilitate the use of the website, we may record your data in a file. When you send in a request for contact, we ask for your name, e-mail address, and other relevant contact information. We use the gathered information for the sole purpose of being able to contact you as part of a standard relationship. But also in order to facilitate the optimal use of our website and services and to keep you informed of interesting information/services. 

2.2 We keep your data for as long as the purpose of use requests so no longer than 1 year. Then we remove these files.

2.3 We need your explicit permission to use your personal data. You do so by accepting our privacy statement. Herewith you give us your permission to use your data as described in this policy. You have the right to withdraw your permission at any time. But this withdrawal only effects the use of your data after that withdrawal.

2.4 LIOF may provide your data to its affiliated companies and to third parties that we hire for the performance of our services. These third parties will act as data processors only on our instructions. Besides this, we will not provide any data to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.

3.1 LIOF wishes to be clear about how it deals with the personal data of visitors. This privacy and cookie statement is intended to contribute towards this. However, if you have any further questions regarding how LIOF deals with your personal data, please send a message to info@liof.nl or a letter to LIOF at Postbus 1310/6201 BH Maastricht. 

3.2 You can also send a message to the above e-mail or postal address if you would like to know which of your personal data has been recorded, if you wish to correct data, or if you wish to have data removed. Lastly, you can also indicate that you no longer wish to receive newsletters by e-mail or post. 

Article 4 Cookie policy 
4.1 The LIOF website also makes use of what are known as cookies. A cookie is a technology that gathers and uses information. It is a small text file that LIOF sends to your browser in order to be able to automatically recognize it on a repeat visit to the LIOF website(s). Cookies are used to remember preference settings and aid LIOF in the proper functioning of its website(s). We may also use cookies to ensure that you do not repeatedly receive or need to enter the same information when visiting the LIOF website(s). 

4.2 It is safe to use cookies. Cookies do not save data such as your telephone number or e-mail address that would make it possible to approach you via these channels. 4.4 The cookies that LIOF uses on its website(s) are divided into three categories.

  • Performance cookies: These cookies gather information about the use and performance of the website. Examples include which pages users are visiting, or if something goes wrong and an error message is generated. This enables LIOF to know what is happening on the website and how to immediately improve it. For this purpose we also use the tool Hotjar. LIOF does not gather any personal data with these cookies and you therefore remain completely anonymous. 
  • Functional cookies: These cookies remember choices that have been made. When you visit our website and agree to the use of cookies (by closing our cookie banner), you accept us being able to place cookies on your computer. 

4.5 When you visit our website, third parties may have also placed cookies (Google Analytics). This does not happen if you wish to share our pages via your social media.

5.1 The LIOF website allows users to opt-in. This means that you determine whether you wish to receive our newsletters and other information about new opportunities, events, and services. Newsletters are sent by e-mail only after we have received your permission. If you wish to be removed from a mailing list and thus no longer receive information about this topic, you can opt-out in the relevant e-mail.
